In this episode, The Intangibles have a thorough discussion on one of the most important developmental tools - Feedback! Topics will include: asking for feedback - not waiting for it to come to you; preparing for discussions - not getting offending while getting to the root cause; branching out beyond a single source of feedback - finding a mentor; and actually addressing the feedback received.

In order to truly help understand this, The Intangibles interview Dr. Christopher Stuart Taylor, Black History Professor at the University of Waterloo. The interview will cover some of his background and personal motivations; how the career path works; and how one can succeed once on this path based on his experiences. 

Episode 006 - Book Review: Eat That Frog!

In this episode, The Intangibles go back-to-back with another book review, aiming to contrast the previous soft skills review with a more technically focused book. "Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time" by Brian Tracey. Sharing their experiences on how to best utilize some of the tools provided, overcome some of its challenges, and a discussion on whether the listener should read this book. 

Episode 005 - Book Review: How to Win Friends and Influence People

In this episode, The Intangibles try something a little different. A book review, specifically on the career development based book - "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. They will reflect on their experiences and expectations to provide opinions on their favourite and least favourite parts of the book, including how to best utilize some of the tools provided. They close it off with a discussion on whether the listener should read this book and why. 

Episode 004 - Why and When to Make a Move

In this episode, The Intangibles have an open discussion on why and when you should changes roles, reflecting on their own experiences. This will include: the optimal timeline; advancement - promotion vs company change; maximizing experience and development; and why people leave.

In this episode, The Intangibles will cover presenting, the do's, the don'ts, and some real life examples. Topics will include: getting started - engaging the audience; introductions - why you're there; knowing your topic; and preparing for/trying to get questions from the audience.

The first episode will take a unique perspective on interviews, specifically: how to prepare; when the assessment actually begins; during the interview, the STAR format - what it is, how to use it, and communicating through conversation vs memorization; types of questions to ask; follow up.
